Java J2EE Developer - City London required for development and consulting firm seeks experienced Java developer to participate in several ongoing projects. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in designing and building Java-oriented front-ends for browser-based, multi-user database applications. You will be using a range of technologies including Java, J2ME, J2EE, Web Services and XML, as well as JSF, Hibernate and Java Beans. Among your tasks will be small device (J2ME) programming on a distributed, M2M (machine-to-machine) network, as well as design and development of the centralised databases and Web services systems used to manage the devices network. Multi-tasking capabilities are a must, as you may have multiple simultaneous projects on the go at any time. Demonstration of your ability to write clear, well structured and well commented code will also be a plus, as will be your willingness to change gears quickly, trying your hand in a variety of technical areas and on a number of projects. My Client is a major global organisation whose name will be familiar to everybody. I require an experienced WebSphere Application Server V5.1 (ideally 6.1) consultant. Must have extensive experience of installing, configuring and supporting a large high volume production Internet facing WebSphere environment on a Linux (RHEL 5) platform. To work amongst a small team of highly technical WebSphere specialists on a very high profile transactional Internet site running WebSphere. Candidate needs to be certified by in WebSphere Application Server V5.1 or V6.x. & have experience in migrating a production environment from WebSphere V5.1 to V6.1. Exposure to other application servers such as JBoss and Tomcat would also be ideal. Core Technical Skills inc: WSAdmin scripting, application deployments, J2EE, UNIX skills to support Websphere on Unix platform. Perl programming skills are needed. Solid experience with Relational Database architectures & SQL (ideally DB2). Websphere Application Server Configuration experience (JDBC, JNDI, EJB's, PMI and WebSphere tracing).

About the Department: The Department is responsible for planning, design and implementation of the Mobile and Web Internet Platforms which includes the internet presence and the WAP-Portal various other services for end customers. Project Objectives (High-level description): As part of the project as a J2EE Scrum Master in the group Web Portal, the contractor will enable the implementation, modification and testing of EJB modules on a JBoss application server as part of a team. In additional, components will be devloped using the abaXX web application. The project will be completed once existing workflows have been implemented against a new backend interface. The task is split into 3 main parallel sub-project groups and several follow-up sub-tasks each with defined delivery dates. Focus and main tasks: • Document and communicate to the project manager the progress and scope/timeline influencing factors (impediments) at pre-defined intervals in the project. • Responsible for further development of the agile software development process • Analyse existing Java based web-applications and modules • Adapt existing and implement new portal specific business logic • Document of existing and new software components and modules according to web portal documentation standards and Scrum processes • Test the developed web-applications Skill-Requirements: • Programming Language Must-haves: • At least 3 years of project experience in the development of J2EE applications. • At least 2 of the following 3: Experience with Springframework or EJB2-3 or Hibernate Must-have: • Scrum Master Certification • In depth knowledge with regard to Continuous Integration, and testing with JUnit and Mockobjects • Experience of development within large projects with heterogenous systems and teams working in parallel. • English and German: Must be fluent in one of the two and be able to use the other on a working level.
